Bath Day!
I finished the third block from the Benjamin Biggs block of the month. The quilt is a reproduction block of the month pattern from “Just Takes Two” (Gay Bomers and Brenda Papadakis). They provide a block pattern each month for free and then the blocks are available for purchase on their website. The program started last January (2014) so block #13 is currently available. You can also find them on Facebook – search for Just Takes 2. I promised myself that I would make at least one grand red and green applique quilt and fell in love with this one when I saw it so I’ll keep plugging away. Let’s see…3 blocks per year…25 blocks…I’ll be finished with the blocks in about 8-1/2 years. And then there are the borders. And the quilting. Oh well…
Gorgeous! Is it done yet? Lol!
I love your fabric in this block- the cherries especially. I've missed a few BBWQ months here and there but am slowly but surely catching up.
So happy to find another quilter working on this quilt- thanks for sharing!
Hugs, Jo 🙂
Beautiful work. Just like Phyllis, I am curious as to why you are washing a solo block? Is it for the reasons that Phyllis mentioned?
It is a beautiful quilt, am printing out the blocks each month for some day…. I have a question though: do you wash the blocks (picture) when they are finished? I have never seen that before. I never pre-wash my fabrics anymore, that is why I am asking. If you wash the blocks separately do you do that the see if the fabrics bleed, before you make the whole quilttop? And do you pre-wash your batting and backing as well then? Thank you in advance for the info.
What a beautiful block!
Your quilt will be stunning no matter when it's finished!
beautiful and the long ones are always always worth it!
Lovely block, you'll have a beautiful quilt one day even if it does take time.
so pretty!!
Un magnifique bloc!
Le tissus blanc met en valeur les colories des appliqués.
Won't it be a treasure, though!
Your applique is perfection – what a beautiful block! Just keep going!
Your block is lovely. Take your time and enjoy!
Don't worry how long it takes – it is beautiful! I love all the fabrics you are using and the fabric on your berries makes them glow 🙂
Beautiful………..be the odd one out and not rush, take your time and enjoy! Seems as quilters we are rushing to the next project, well I know I am!
No matter how long you take it will be a beautiful quilt in the end.
Isn't it beautiful! You did a great job 🙂 I'm still looking for the perfect reds and greens – are you using different/scrappy fabrics?
I say, Great quilts cannot be rushed! Nice block.
